The European Society of Anaesthesiology has developed a range of grants to help anaesthesiologists and members of the ESA receive quality training or research activities throughout Europe.

Every year the ESA supports research and clinical studies in anaesthesiology through grants and prizes.

    To promote anaesthesia–related research in Europe
    To encourage anaesthesiologists to extend the frontiers of their practice
    To support individual projects of up to two years duration

    ESA Research Support Grant

    To promote anaesthesia–related research in Europe
    To encourage anaesthesiologists to extend the frontiers of their practice
    To assist work in progress or pilot studies

    ESA Young investigator start-up Grant

    To encourage a young investigator up to 35 years old in Research in the field of Anaesthesia

    ESA Coordination Grant

    To support the building of consortia and the preparation of proposals to be submitted under the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission.

  • John Zorab Prize

    To the candidate who obtains the best score at the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) Part I examination.

    Hypnos Grant

    To support Eastern European candidates applying for the EDAIC Part II examination.

    Young Teaching Recognition Award

    To award an individual with outstanding teaching skills

  • To support promising trainees complement their clinical training in European centres of excellence
